John Adams proclaimed a day of “Solemn Humiliation, Fasting, and Prayer” in 1798, and given the obvious hard times we have coming — everything from widespread corruption, to foreign-bought politicians, from 30 million unemployed to the obvious favor shown to illegal-aliens — it is obvious that we need help. And only Divine help will do.
So, here is my prayer, short and simple:
Father God, please care for us, provide our food and clothes; assist us in putting into positions of authority those who will do Justly, who love mercy, and who walk humbly with you — not because of who we are, but because of who You are, and who you’ve shown yourself to be by the work accomplished on the Cross — Amen.
